Radiant little hand-sequined 1974 Halston Resort dress. Halston began to embrace the glossy allure of full sequin silhouettes around 1973. The sequin technique he used during this time period differed from later collections. In these earlier garments, the sequins were laid onto the silk completely flat and were placed side by side to each other. This gives the fabric the wonderfully fluid and flexible liquid finish.
The dress is completely covered in tightly hand-sewn rows of iridescent sequins on cream silk organza. Chic and simple shirt dress silhouette with a tie-waist belt. Snap closure all down the front. You can style this piece for day or night in an infinite amount of ways. Unlined. Excellent condition.
An iteration of this wrap-shirt dress as a two-piece ensemble was documented on the runway by model, Chris Royer, at the Halston Resort 1974 Ready to Wear Presentation on September 12,1973, in New York City.
